The Aftermath

After a truth bomb carpet-bombing what is a couple to do.  Talk it out? Ignore everything said and continue like normal?  The aftermath of a bomb exploding can be devastating there is destruction and debris everywhere.  After most of the insecurities are exposed by your best friend things tend to be a tad awkward.  How you handle the aftermath is important, some need time to figure out their next move, some want to break the awkwardness and talk immediately.

In the next three episodes following Maddie's introduction you can tell both are shaken and Laura trying to figure out what the board is up to interferes with them confronting all the insecurities that have come out.  Laura feels Carmilla needs to have a sit-down chat again with Maddie to see if she can get information from her about the murder of the journalism department.

In "Sister Spycraft" Episode 10.  Carmilla doesn't feel great about spying on Maddie for Laura, but she knows if she can get her to tell the truth, then this will all be over, and she can fix things with Laura and ride off into the sunset.  Maddie however turns the tables on Carmilla brings up the fact that maybe she and Laura are together just because it justifies killing "Mother" and that eventually Carmilla will bore of Luara and go back to being her dark and usual self.

In these episodes, there isn't a lot of time for just Laura and Carmilla and you can tell Carmilla is a little annoyed that they aren't able to talk.  Similar to this after the bombs were dropped on me and L, L was pledging a sorority and we didn't have a lot of time for us.  In the long run, her joining a sorority was just what L need to get through college at the time.  I wasn't a fan because it was taking her away from her time with me.  This lack of conversations eventually led to the talk.(A Long Talk)

When there is a conflict within the relationship and it's not discussed and sits and festers your headed to a bumpy ride.  I'm sure Laura and Carmilla want to talk through these issues that Maddie has presented them with.  L and I eventually talked this out but there was conflict and tension up till we had that long talk.  In a dramatic setting, I can't imagine how bumpy it's about to get for Laura and Carmilla.

Its a Trap! Kind of.

Though episodes 11 to 16 are very important, essentially showing Carmilla trying to save Laura from her mother first by just telling her mother to find someone else's besides Laura.  Then Carmilla tries to scare away her mother with the charm bracelet to protect Laura from other vampires all while Laura finds evidence linking Carmilla to all the disappearances devising a plan to catch Carmilla.  These episodes move the plot along but don't really relate to me and L until the trap.           It's a trap,  Episode 17.   It's a Trap was an instant flashback to a moment between L and me.  So when Carmilla walks in and doesn't want to go to the party and would rather have one on one time that's totally me....

Countess Mircalla "Carmilla" von Karnstein

Countess Mircalla "Carmilla" von Karnstein is our other main protagonist.  Carmilla was born in 1680 in Steria, Austria to a Count.  She was murdered at a ball at the age of 18.  Resurrected as a vampire by  Lilita Morgan (The Dean of Silas University).  She lived a tortured life as a pawn for Lilita luring young girls to their doom.  She eventually met a young girl Elle who she developed a relationship.  Hiding her nature from Elle, Lilita reveals to Elle that Carmilla is a vampire.  Elle rejects Carmilla running to Lilita sending Elle to her doom.  She eventually would end up at Silas University continuing to work until she met a very headstrong, nieve, shrill of a girl named Laura.  So how does a 36-year-old father of three completely relate to a 300-year-old female vampire?  You're about to hear about our differences and our similarities.        Our differen...

Laura Eileen Hollis

Laura Eileen Hollis (played by  Elise Bauman ) is one of our two protagonists.  Laura is young, sheltered, naive, and headstrong.  When we were first introduced to Laura I instantly identified with her. ( Carmilla and Laura Parallels )  Things quickly change with the introduction of Carmilla.  This entry isn't about me or Carmilla.  It's really about Laura and L.  What makes them similar and what makes them different.  Laura does have a few similarities lets just say Laura and I love the sweets.  I will bring them up some of them at the appropriate moment.      Let's start with the differences.  Though they have a ton in common there are a few differences. Now it is no secret that Laura is naive and I could say the same thing about L.  The two both grew up in small towns and were out on their own for the first time.  How they were naive is where the differences lie....
