Convincing Someone You Deserve to Love Them Again

            One bad decision, one mistake, one misunderstanding can bring it all down.  Trust in a relationship is very hard to achieve and once it's broken it can all come crashing down.  Reestablishing that trust once it's broken can be even harder.  Trust comes from honesty and loyalty and the willingness to have faith in someone that you love and getting it back that trust is a great challenge.                      "Zones of Friendship" Episode 27 .  All hell has broken louse on the Silas campus and our gang is trying to figure out their next move.  They have barricaded themselves in the former dean's apartment.  They all decided they should get some rest and regroup early in the morning.  Carmilla and Laura have a moment alone.  They are playing a board game with each other, but another game is about to begin.  Talking about death....

                      So we've been busy recently and have been stuck towards the end of the second season.  Will finish it eventually.  So I have been rewatching season one and re-reading old posts and have noticed things I had missed when writing the first time.  A big one I noticed is that I totally missed the fact that if you look at episode 15 to episode 22 those episodes are essentially Carmilla's and Laura's first date.               This is definitely a just go with me kinda moment. It starts as a plan to lure Carmilla into a trap and the best way is for Laura to offer herself up as bait.  Carmilla actually thinks the two are on a date up until they capture her and tie her to a chair.  As time progresses Laura gets to know Carmilla a little better.  Especially after the puppet show ( The Talk ).  After that, they watch movies and spend ...

                     I'm not done with this episode.  Have you ever had a key go into a lock but it doesn't open that door?  A lot of keys fit but they don't always open the right door.  L and I live in a very old house, and we have doors everywhere.  Some with keys some without.  Some of these old keys have been worn down and don't always click into place but they open the door nun the less.  For L and me, this couldn't be more true.  It's the right key.  It's the right lock.  It's the right door, and everything will work but it just doesn't click all the time.    For Luara and Carmilla this is also true.  Maybe even more accurate than L and I.  I bring this up because Laura brings this analogy up in this episode.  I don't practically agree with her statement.  I'm guessing she will learn that not all keys have to click smoothly to open the right d...

               How do you deal with stress?  Interesting question, because everyone deals with it differently.  Some just lash out in anger (Perry).  Some make jokes (Lafontaine).  Some use logic sense and reason (Danny).  Some use violence (Mattie).  Some use emotion and feeling.         Asking someone to change is a big ask.  Especially when you have only known the person for like a couple of months.  That is exactly what Laura is asking a 300-year-old vampire to do.  Asking someone to change overnight is an impossible task.  Change takes time and there has to be a want to change.  Now that Carmilla has gone from the evil side to the good side she has struggled with this new identity.  Laura really doesn't understand this yet and just expects Carmilla to be who she was at the end of season one and that isn't who Carmilla is at the moment.                Laura  " So … yeah.  I think ….   A breakup is never easy.  They tend to leave in their wake a path of destruction and tend to cause even more problems.  Breakups can be mutual or just one person saying enough and walking out on everything.  In this case, we're talking about one person walking out on the other.  For Carmilla, she had enough of Laura putting everyone ahead of her and Laura's happiness.               "No Heroics"  Episode 15 .   That volcano that started bubbling after the quote has finally reached its point of eruption.  Laura has asked Carmilla to betray her sister for the greater good again.  Carmilla's response is no.    Then the argument begins with Carmilla eventually telling Laura that she loves her but is unwillin g to change who she is.  Laura says "   If you really loved me, then you’d stay.  I need you to be the kind of person that helps and … fights.  Carmilla res...

                              "Those who prefer their principles over their happiness they refuse to be happy outside of the conditions they seem to have attached to their happiness." - Albert Camus.  What a heavy quote.  Those are strong words that carry a lot of weight to them.  These words apply oh so well to Laura and L and they are what makes them who they are. Good or bad.                        "Enter Lugenbaron" Episode 12 .  If episode 28 in season 1 is my favorite episode this episode is the most important to me.   So Carmilla and Laura finally have a moment alone, but Carmilla is reading and Laura is watching a show.  Showing that there is all of a sudden a little distance between the two.  Carmilla invites Laura to sit with her.  Laura reads an excerpt from Carmilla's book....

                           After a truth bomb carpet-bombing what is a couple to do.  Talk it out? Ignore everything said and continue like normal?  The aftermath of a bomb exploding can be devastating there is destruction and debris everywhere.  After most of the insecurities are exposed by your best friend things tend to be a tad awkward.  How you handle the aftermath is important, some need time to figure out their next move, some want to break the awkwardness and talk immediately.          In the next three episodes following Maddie's introduction you can tell both are shaken and Laura trying to figure out what the board is up to interferes with them confronting all the insecurities that have come out.  Laura feels Carmilla needs to have a sit-down chat again with Maddie to see if she can get information from her about the murder of the journalism departm...

                     Best friends are the people who know us best outside of family and sometimes better than family its self.  They push us to be better they challenge us they help us when family isn't an option.  Best friends especially long-time best friends have a way of shaking especially new relationships off the tracks.  We love our best friends because they are honest with us and sometimes that honesty goes a little too far.  For Carmilla and me, our best friends had a way to drop that proverbial truth bomb right on that new relationship.           "The Chair of the Board" Episode 6 .  After episode one a lot of exposition happened the campus is in chaos due to a lack of leadership.  Something is happing with Perry completely separate from the main plot what I don't know.  Carmilla and Laura finally had their romantic night looking at the stars....

                  When a relationship starts it's like that new car smell everything is exciting and new.  Songs sound different, food tastes better you just feel like your floating.  You want to see this person constantly you want them all to yourself.  Time apart seems like forever.  You want to share everything about yourself with them.  Your hopes and dreams your fears and sadness.  It's like your floating on a cloud.  Something also happens our insecurities about ourselves come out and the fear of revealing these insecurities to someone so special and how they will react is scary.              "Brave New World" Episode 1 .  The episode starts in the dark and is illuminated by lightning and thunder followed by Laura turning on the lights.  Foreshadowing abounds that our young lovers are headed towards some dark times.  Carmilla is looking f...

                      There is a magnet on our refrigerator that has a saying "opposites attract, fall in love, get married, and drive each other nuts." I would love to give this magnet to Carmilla and Laura.  This old saying couldn't be more true for L and me.  The reason opposites attract is the other person completes us.  They give us that opposite opinion that opposite set of ideas.  If one is an introvert the other an extrovert.  Our partners make us better they push us in ways we need to be pushed.  They tell us what we need to hear not what we want to hear.  They challenge us to be the best version of ourselves.  When L and I first started dating L always made me uncomfortable in a good way she put me in more grown-up situations.            Why do opposites attract?  Simple, life would be quite boring if opposites didn't attract.            Every show has a Christmas special and Carmilla is no different.  The special is more on the comical horror side and lacks the drama of the regular series.  As I have blogged about in the first season, I have always made a point to point out the similarities between Laura and Carmilla's and L's and mine relationship.  For the first time, L and I had more drama than Laura and Carmilla.  Yes, that's right real drama for L and me.  Now, this drama leads to a big question that I start to ask myself after these events but will dive deeper into that later.      Carmilla Christmas Special .                        That look that freaking look on Carmilla's face in "Do not go into the light" episode 34.   I have made that look a few times (sarcastic it's a lot).  There are probably a few friends that have seen that look from me and think that's how my face looks.  I know. I know.  I talk about the freaking cocoa all the time, that was my brain suttling telling me to change.  This however was sludge hammer to the face.        Everyone talks about compromises in relationships all the time.  Compromises are easy, sacrifices are what truly test a relationship.  Am I willing to give up something big for this person?  Are they worth sacrificing for?  Are you willing to change for them?  All big questions you have to ask yourself when making a sacrifice.      Mommy Dearest Episode 32 .  Parents have interesting ways of helping their children even if it isn't intentional.  For Carmilla, she and her "Mother's" relationship is complicated and not exactly on the loving side, but when the Dean possesses Laura she is about to teach Carmilla a valuable lesson even if it isn't on purpose. The dean starts to talk about sacrifices meaning the girls but for Carmilla, her "Mother's" words connect much differently.  Elle is brought up and "Mother," tells her that she is special and that Elle and Laura aren't worth sacrificing for.  Then the ...

                What I have learned from this series the most is that little sacrifices lead to love.  I know it sounds like a Hallmark greeting card for Valentine's Day, but it's true.  The little details the little moments are what bring you to the big moments, but when you forget the little things they can lead to the big fights as well.  Over my time married I forgot about the little things and my marriage to L has suffered.  The cocoa was my awakening to lack of the little things I had been doing for L.         Blame Enough for All Episode 28 .  In this episode, three big parallels make this my favorite episode so far.   When L and I first met L had issues with self-esteem and self-confidence issues never feeling adequate.  She always felt like she couldn't do enough for others or herself she felt like she was never good enough.  For Laura, this moment came when L...
